bottle one.

Polished off a bottle of Rex Goliath merlot last night. Spent about $7.00 on it from Walmart. I kind of regret having to buy it from there, but it was 2 a.m. and there weren't very many options. Anyway, surprisingly enough, it was pretty good. I haven't quite caught the grasp on wine jargon, like how to go about describing the taste from the smell to the actual drinking. But from an amateurs point of view, this is one of the better tasting merlots that I've had. It has a nice berry flavor that's sweet to the "palate" and carries a nice fragrance. I would recommend this wine for a leisurely drink, maybe after dinner due to its dessert like quality. I could definitely see myself buying another bottle, but this is the beginnings of an aspiring connoisseur. So, I can't double up. Pretty soon I hope to fill my closet shelf with each bottle and individual sticky notes that give proper ratings according to my taste and maybe yours as well. I'm going to continue on my journey through merlots before I start on any other "type" of wine. From cheap to expensive. I really gotta take some wine tasting classes though, lol.

 Anyway, enjoy!

  2. haha well, i haven't yet had enough experience to really give out any suggestions, but, for its price and taste and over all good choice for big gatherings like that, I'd have to go with franzia box wine. Really good stuff and you get what you pay for.

  3. Im not really a big wine drinker, but I do enjoy it with a nice steak dinner. (Mmm steak)

I personally prefer champaign if I am going to drink wine.

  4. steak and wine is definitely a good combo :)

  5. Any champagne is by far the best wine, because of the notes of bitterness with the flavor of a full bodied berry, with fizz.

lol Sparkling Wine (same as champagne, but not from that region of Italy) doesnt compare...

Anyways, I love your blog <3

  6. Thats weird. You'd never expect an early wine for only 7 bucks to taste better then dishwashing water.
Do you prefer sparkling or still wine?
    White or red?

  7. still over sparkling and red over white. maybe its because of my preference that i enjoyed this wine. but, i really shouldnt judge yet since i have yet to taste a really expensive merlot. ill be there soon!
